Designing characters and the environments they inhabit for film fundraising, pre-production, and beyond
ROLE: Concept Artist
The Great Princess Diana Caper is a comedy short about the outlandish lengths people go to in the name of love. Collaborating with the director, I developed illustrated studies of ideal character looks, thematic set elements, and possible shots that were referenced throughout the creative process. They needed to be believable enough to capture the imaginations of producers and donors, as well as would-be cast and crew members.
The poster uses graphic, stylized elements inspired by the art style of Old Hollywood films. Stills are more painterly and true to life; these stills were used to block actual scenes from the film. The likenesses of the final cast of actors are used throughout.
